“Supplied argument” is whatever you pass a function. In a program, you might ask for a filename, and that would be sent to something that picks out a file and does something with it.
“File-handle-resource” A file handle could be thought about as a handle on a file: You basically have a big nice handle to pick the file up with and swing it about.Not valid: You gave wrong input:
on line x: the fault is in the program code at line x.
So basically, it’s immensely useful for the programmer, since it told him what the fault was “Something that deals with files have gotten a wrong argument”, and where it was (line 282).
But it’s pretty much useless for the end user, who would more likely want to hear “Sorry, can’t access file” or similar.
