Nice one. One that might be more appreciated after reading merriam-webster.com/dictionary/catachresis

Jau, ohne den Tip von Nicolai hätte ich den jetzt nicht so ganz geschnallt.
Nice one!
Thx to Nicolai for the link! -

It’s boring to explain jokes. Especially in the age of Google and Co. But I admit it: this strip is a tough one. Helpless IT nerds are forced to set foot on the unknown and eerie land of literature and linguistics!
;)
So, here’s the way out: http://web.cn.edu/kwheeler/lit_terms_C.html#catachresis_anchor and http://web.cn.edu/kwheeler/lit_terms_A.html#abusio_anchor . -

Nice one, but isn’t the word “catachrestical” ? Ironic, perhaps?
-
Heyoka said on September 2nd, 2008:
@mattymcg: Yep, you are right - according to merriam-webster.com the correct adjective is “catachrestic” or “catachrestical” (I wonder if there is anyone out there who ever used this word). But the Copywriter had to invent a disease and the guy won’t mind anyway.
;)
(Well - frankly speaking, it’s just a typo and I should correct the text bubble …) -

@mattymcg: I have corrected the text bubble. Thanks for your hint!

We had a lot of trouble finding out how to spell this varient of the word anyway - a verified source is most welcome!
The next strip will be much, much easier to spell…
